Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 18, 2026
These terms cover two things: using this website, and booking me to perform. I'm Antonio Houdini, a musician based in Vancouver, British Columbia, also operating as Houdini Entertainment Collective. "I", "me" and "my" mean me. "You" means anyone using the site, or the person or company booking a performance.
If you have a signed booking agreement with me and it says something different from these terms, the booking agreement wins.
1. Using this website
You're welcome to browse the site, watch the videos and contact me through it. Please don't try to break it, overload it, send spam through the booking form, or use it for anything unlawful.
I try to keep everything here accurate, but the site is provided as it is. Availability, services and anything else shown can change, so always confirm the details with me directly.
2. Photos, videos and content
The photos, videos, text, logo and the name "Houdini Entertainment Collective" on this site belong to me or are used with permission. You can share links to the site, but please don't copy, download or reuse the content, especially for commercial purposes, without asking me in writing first.
3. Inquiries and quotes
Sending an inquiry through the form, by email, by phone or on social media doesn't reserve a date. I'll reply with my availability and a quote. A quote is valid for the period written on it. If none is written, it's valid for 14 days, and dates aren't held until the booking is confirmed.
4. Confirming a booking
A booking is confirmed only when both of these have happened:
- we've agreed the date, times, location, services and fee in writing, either by email or in a signed booking agreement, and
- I've received any deposit listed in that agreement.
Until then, the date stays open to other clients.
5. Fees and payment
The fee, the deposit amount and the payment due dates are the ones written in your quote or booking agreement. Travel, parking, ferries or accommodation for events outside Metro Vancouver may cost extra, and I'll list them in the quote. If the event runs longer than booked, extra time is only added if we both agree on the day, and it's billed at the rate in your agreement.
6. Changes and cancellations by you
If you need to change the date, times or location, tell me as early as possible. I'll do my best to make it work, but a change depends on my availability and may change the fee.
If you cancel, the cancellation terms in your booking agreement apply, including whether the deposit is refunded. Please cancel in writing, by email.
7. If I can't perform
If illness, injury, an emergency or something else outside my control stops me from performing, I'll tell you as soon as I can and try to arrange a replacement performer of a similar standard, if you want one. If we can't find a replacement you're happy with, I'll refund everything you've paid for that performance. That refund is the full extent of my responsibility for the cancellation.
8. Venue, setup and safety
To give you a great performance, I need a few things from you or your venue:
- A safe, flat area to perform and set up, with a standard power outlet nearby.
- Access for loading in my equipment, and parking or clear directions to it.
- Cover from rain and direct sun for outdoor events. I may pause or move the performance if the weather puts people or equipment at risk.
- Someone on site I can contact on the day.
I may stop performing if the conditions become unsafe, or if I or anyone working with me is harassed or threatened. In that case the full fee is still owed.
9. Music and song requests
I'm happy to take requests and will plan the set around your event. Songs I don't already play need to be requested in advance and are learned at my discretion. Licensing for music played at your venue, such as SOCAN and Re:Sound fees in Canada, is normally the venue's responsibility.
10. Photos and video at your event
I may record short clips or take photos of my own performance to use on this site and on social media. If you'd prefer I don't, tell me in writing before the event and I won't. You and your guests are welcome to film the performance for personal use.
11. Equipment and damage
My instruments and sound equipment stay my property. You're responsible for damage to them caused by you, your guests or your venue, other than normal wear and tear.
12. Limits on liability
As far as the law allows, I'm not responsible for indirect or consequential losses connected with the website or a performance, and my total responsibility for any booking is limited to the fee paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits anything that can't legally be limited.
13. Other websites
This site links to Instagram, YouTube and Google Maps. I don't control those sites and I'm not responsible for their content or how they work.
14. Law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of British Columbia.
15. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The version that applies to your booking is the one in place when your booking was confirmed.
